Grossdeutschland was assigned the task of securing the XIX Panzer Corps' left flank so the German troops could begin their offensive toward the English Channel. To accomplish this, the regiment had to capture the town of Stonne and nearby villages, keys to the high ground that dominated the bridgehead across the Meuse river.
Objectives: Your company forms the center of the battalion battleline and is tasked with moving south and occupying the village. Your platoon is deployed on the right flank of the company battleline, and will move in concert with the rest of the company to take the objective. At least a battalion of the 55th Infantry Division occupy positions in the town and along the ridge line. The strongpoints consist of antitank guns, antitank rifles and machine guns.
